Two research papers investigating an approved topic related to the American criminal justice system. You may find that historical events are interesting topics for research, especially court cases, particularly U.S. Supreme Court cases that changed the course of our history. Researching the events that led up to U.S. Supreme Court decisions, and the people and politics of that time that may have influenced the outcome, can be quite illuminating. The application of a criminological theory to a U.S. Supreme Court decision may provide a level of understanding as to the thought process for a particular decision, and the effect it has had on the American criminal justice system.
Research for each paper will include a minimum of five sources, which will be a combination of industry publications and scholarly articles. Use of the textbook is prohibited. The format is to include title page, abstract, introduction, body, and references (bibliography). References and citations are to be in APA format.
