Rationale: The purpose of this assignment is to foster students’ understanding of challenges in clinical leadership and its
importance in today’s healthcare system. Furthermore, this assignment will prepare the new graduates to apply evidencebased practice and problem-solving skills in clinical leadership to promote healthcare service quality and patient safety.
Assignment Descriiption:
Prepare a written, critical analysis of a significant issue related to clinical leadership in nursing. The students will select a
topic from the list provided by their instructor. First, conduct a literature review on the topic and prepare a one-page
introduction that describes the issue, rationale for selection, and significant of the problem. The introduction section
should end up with a clear problem statement. Next, provide background about the topic of discussion, then propose
three possible solutions for the problem. In your analysis, discuss the pros and cons of each solution and then choose the
most appropriate one based on Qatar’s context and evidence-based practice. You need to provide a strong argument that
supports your choice. Finally, the student should provide a clear action plan with a proper time frame to implement the
suggested solution. Develop your paper so that it may be submitted for review to the executive director at your health
institute.
Evaluation Criteria:
1. The maximum length for this paper is 6 double-spaced pages using APA format (7th Edition), excluding title
page, references, and appendix.
2. A minimum of 5 -10 recent references is required (published within the last seven years). References may
be peer-reviewed articles, RNAO BPGs, and respected databases. Websites and Wikipedia are not
acceptable references.
3. Timely submission. Late Assignments will be penalized with a deduction of the overall grade at a rate of
10% per day, or portion thereof, including weekends
4. Turnitin report and score should be less than 10%. Paper will not be graded without Turnitin report, and any
delay of submission will be managed through late assignment policy.
5. A detailed rubric will be posted on D2L.
