If we study different philosophies and theories of education, it can provide insight into how we think and how others think about education and teaching. By reviewing the various philosophies and theories of education, it will also help us define our motivations for entering the teaching profession, and help us understand others’ (students, parents, teaching colleagues) views of the purpose and function of education as well.
