In the beginning of the film, it was told that Thierry owned a vintage shop.

I’ve attached the essay prompt and instructions below as a PDF file.
The two discussed topics are William’s essay and Banky’s film.
– I have attached William’s essay below as a PDF as well
– Banksy’s film is free on youtube it is called “Exit Through the Gift Shop” or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqVXThss1z4
The last paper I had someone write was totally off topic and did not have a thesis. I’d really like if you thoroughly watched the film and read the essay so you can understand the concept. But I will also provide a short explanation.
William’s essay:
She uses his conceptual ideas as a way to explain how conventional art nowadays is created for our entertainment. That the wilderness or natural world is becoming just the background of human manmade creations. When in fact she believes that art has always surrounded us through the natural world and through sensations/connections/ moments within it.
She explains that before a food court was placed into the room, kids used to lay on the floor mesmerized at the whale suspended from the ceiling. Now, it seems that nobody even blinks at the sight of the whale, that it has become something that people have grown used to. Instead of it being a work of art, or even just a showcase of biology, it has become decoration. When Williams says “the natural world is becoming invisible”, she is talking about this exact phenomenon. Humans being overly entertained by the surface level things we have created for ourselves rather than immersing ourselves in the place of where we once were part of – the natural world.
Banksy’s film:
Street art was originally just graffiti, nowadays it has developed into different genres and types of art. However, for the most part, street art is typically correlated to graphic design.
In my personal opinion, I see a big difference in street art and conceptual. Street art is when art is placed into a space where it is mostly unwanted. Usually the message within the art is contradicting or provocative. Fine art or conceptual art is more traditional and conservative. Even though it can also be controversial or provocative, such as Hirst’s artwork, it is found in areas where people will expect it. This proves a huge difference because it is only available to those who choose to view it.
In the beginning of the film, it was told that Thierry owned a vintage shop. He mainly bought old tees and clothing pieces to resell them for more than what he got them for. With art, he does the same. Thierry is making art based on other people’s original pieces to later develop into something even more valuable.
Please try to use as many quotes and examples you can find within these to develop your point!! And cite MLA style please! No outside sources is needed.
