Criteria
4 – 5 paragraphs long; no more than 2 ½ pages. Aim for two pages.
Must contain an introduction (with a thesis statement), body paragraphs (no more than 3), and a conclusion.

Maintain third person, present tense; no personal pronouns or contractions
Include transition words/phrases between paragraphs.
Titles of poems and short works are always in quotations marks (no italics). For example: “Curandera Dream”
Titles of books, anthologies, novels, plays, publications (newspapers, magazines), and website names are always italicized (no quotation marks): For example: Portable Literature: Reading, Reacting, Writing, The New York Times
